Conservatism vs.Liberalism
“What makes an outlook “conservative” is that it is rooted
in an attitude about the past rather than in expectations of the future.
The first principles of conservatism are propositions about human nature and
the way human beings behave in a social context; about limits and what limits
make possible. This practicality, this attention to experience, to workable
arrangements, explains why the conservative community can be liberal and
tolerant toward its members in ways that the progressive left cannot.
In contrast to the conservative outlook, liberal and radical
ideologies are about the future, and about desired outcomes. The first
principles of the left are the principles of politically constructing a “better
world.” Throughout the modern era, the progressive future has been premised on
a social contract that would make all of society’s members equal – or at least
provide them with equal starting points.
Since ideologies of the left are commitments to an imagined
future, to question them is to provoke a moral rather than an empirical
response: Are you for or against the equality of human beings? To
dissent from the progressive viewpoint is not a failure to assess relevant
facts but an unwillingness to embrace a liberated future. It is, therefore, to will
the imperfections and injustices of the present order. In the current cant of
the left, it is to be “racist, sexist, classist,” a defender of the status quo.
That is why not only radicals, but even those who call
themselves liberals, are instinctively intolerant towards the conservative
position. For progressives, the future is not a maze of human uncertainties and
unintended consequences. It is a moral choice. To achieve the socially just
future requires only that enough people decide to will it. Consequently, it is
perfectly consistent for progressives to consider themselves morally and intellectually
enlightened, while dismissing their opponents as morally repulsive
reactionaries, unworthy of the community of other human beings.”

You Could Have Heard a Pin Drop
Once upon a time when our
politicians did not tend to apologize for our country's prior actions,
here's a refresher on how some of our former patriots handled negative comments
about our great country.
JFK'S
Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when DeGaulle
decided to pull out of NATO.
DeGaulle
said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible.
Rusk responded, "Does that include those who are buried here?"
Rusk responded, "Does that include those who are buried here?"
DeGaulle did not respond.
When in England , at a
fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury
if our plans for Iraq were just an example of
'empire building' by George Bush.
'empire building' by George Bush.
He answered by saying, "Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return."
You
could have heard a pin drop.
There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying, "Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia
to
help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?"
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly, "Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?"
You
could have heard a pin drop.
A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks, but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.
He
then asked, "Why is it that we always have to speak English in these
conferences rather than speaking French?"
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied, "Maybe it's because the Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak
German."
You
could have heard a pin drop.
Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.
"You have been to France
before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting admitted that he had
been to France previously.
"Then you should know enough
to have your passport ready."
The American said, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."
"Impossible. Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France !"
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchman to show a passport to."
You could have heard a pin drop.

Russia's Putin Gets It
But America, led by Obama, apparently doesn't...
On August 04, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the
Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech
about the tensions with minorities in Russia:
"In Russia live like Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, and live the life of Muslim's then we advise them to go to those places where that's the state law. Russia does not need Muslim minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell 'discrimination'. We will not tolerate disrespect of our Russian culture. We had better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Muslims are taking over those countries and they will not take over Russia. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of Sharia Law and Muslims. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the Russian national interest first, observing that the Muslims Minorities are not Russians."
The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a five minute standing ovation. If you keep this to yourself, you are part of the problem!

The Never-Ending Battle
This battle has ensued since the beginning of time and the battle is essentially between those in government who want more social programs and those who want more military spending.
The two opposing parties battle for the people’s money without permission from the people. The result has always been the same: the devaluation of the currency.
In the early days, the government reduced the amount of gold and silver in the coinage until it was made of valueless metals. Today, it is done by creating currency with a simple keystroke. In either case, nothing has changed because Man has not changed.

It’s all about power for a handful of so-called leaders: those on
the Left calling for more social program spending (i.e. something for nothing),
and those on the Right calling for more military spending (i.e. war). And we in the Middle Class get the bill in the form of increased taxes.
There never seems to be a consensus for LESS spending, only for more spending on one or the other: social programs or the military. What results is steady growth in both areas until a country collapses. It has happened throughout history and is about to happen in America.

Obama's Plan to Bankrupt the Coal Industry Continues Without Congress
“It could cost
over 200,000 jobs if implemented as currently drafted. And that’s all leaving
aside the fact that Obama EPA regulations are already responsible for
about 130
coal-fired power plants shuttering since 2009 (over 200 more are
expected to shutter in coming years).”
More Truth About Obamacare
“Whatever
the precise number, it appears that a large majority of the activity in
Obamacare private coverage sign-ups is essentially a churn operation: The
system throws people out of their coverage, and then those people come to the
system to sign up for new coverage, and that is reported as a gain for
Obamacare.
Put the two together — Medicaid and private insurance — and it's clear the response of the nation's uninsured to Obamacare has been far less enthusiastic than the administration claims. Which means that the Affordable Care Act has gotten off to a terrible start at its core mission, insuring the uninsured.”
The Congressional Budget Office has estimated there are 57 million uninsured people in the United States. Even if Obamacare worked perfectly, an estimated 31 million would remain uninsured when the law is fully in effect. And if Obamacare continues to sputter and fail as it has so far, that number of still-uninsured could be much higher. Was it worth roiling the nation's health care system to achieve such lackluster results?

Republican House Representative Says It Better Than It's Ever Been Said Before
“They want “amnesty and citizenship for people who have come here
illegally from countries where the education level is lower; they’re used to a
centralized government that provides them everything. The Democrats want them
turned into voters,” Rep Culberson said.
We’re about to find out if the Dems can be stopped.
Difference Between Socialism and Racism
A young black kid asks his mother, "Mama, what is
Socialism and what is Racism?"
"Well, Child,... Socialism is when white folks work every day so we can get all our benefits, you know... like free cell phones for each family member, rent subsidy, food stamps, free healthcare, utility subsidy, welfare and on and on, ...you know. That's Socialism".
"But mama, don't the white people get pissed off about that?"
"Sure they do, Honey. That's called Racism!"
(Never more simply explained…and when you think about it from their perspective, it does makes sense…to them…but not to us.)
