The Department of Energy was instituted on August 4, 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
Thirty two years later, the Department of Energy has an annual budget of $24.2 Billion, 16,000 employees, and over 100,000 contract employees.
But we are still dependent on foreign oil...
